Botched Portrait

That is Nelson “Bo” Burton, Jr., who at one time was a famous professional bowler.  Somehow I talked him into letting me photograph him, but my portable strobe malfunctioned, or I had the wrong shutter speed to sync with the flash, so the film was horribly underexposed.  

Could have been worse.  A friend of mine got to photograph John Lennon, but he messed up the shutter speed so only half of the negative — the half Lennon wasn’t on —  got exposed.
